Spanish Actress Victoria Freire Continues to Make An Incredible Impact In The Acting World

Why do people become actors? Why do other people work in retail? Why aren’t actors on the lists of most common jobs? Yes, a lot of questions, but there is a point to all of this. Probably more people simply fall into a career like retail, as opposed to being pulled into something passionatelyas a vocation, which is what acting is all about. Acting isn’t on any list of common jobs simply because people don’t just fall into acting – they find themselves doing it because they can’t NOT act. They HAVE to act and perform because they don’t see any other alternative to living. Victoria Freire is one of those very interesting people who must act to stay alive – so to speak. If she didn’t act, she would be miserable, unlike retail employees who would just go get another hourly paying job if they lost their retail position. There is nothing wrong with working in retail, it’s just not going to make someone miserable if they can’t work in a retail environment.

Victoria’s acting career began in Spain, where she was born and raised, and she received a Diploma in Acting from The Cinema School of Madrid (ECAM). She also attended various Acting Schools in New York like the Susan Batson Studio and HB Studio. She has been in countless theatrical stage plays and off-Broadway productions such as, “The Engagement Party,” “The Home,” “Beware the Kraken,” “Madame X,” “Sketches of New York,” and “Brain,” among many others. Her film resumé is too lengthy to print them all here but we can name a few: “Dual: Heirs from the past,” “1948,” “The Indivisibility of Blood,” “A year on the Moon,” “Speak Easy,” “A Fantastic World,” and “The Dirty Kind.” She has also gained notice and praise in the television series “MIR” and “Hospital Central.”

Victoria isn’t just an actress, which is generally enough for most mortals, she is also a writer and a creator of shows that she stars in. One of her Off-Broadway shows that she wrote and will act in is “The Devil’s Card,” which is currently being prepared for presentation. She has also written the show “Letters from the asylum,” which is based on the life of the nineteenth century French artist Camille Claudel. It is about the now famous French sculptor who died in poverty and obscurity and struggled throughout her life against the “unladylike desire to become an artist,” that people, including her family labeled her artistic drive. Victoria will play Camille and the show will open in February 2023 in New York City in an Off-Broadway theater.
