Royal Cromwell was born in Atlanta, GA, and was brought up in the urban regions of Birmingham, AL, and Newark, NJ. The striking style and eccentricity of Cromwell often left him on the brink of negativity. He especially recalls a middle school experience in which one of his peer’s made fun of him, telling Cromwell, “You think you’re special, but you’re weird!” However, Cromwell was unaware at the time that this would be the start to building tough skin he would later need to start chasing his dream, FASHION.
Royal Cromwell owns many businesses and organizations, such as The Royal Factotum, and Owleye Healing, of which he is passionately proud. He has spent the last decade professionally building his modeling portfolio and has won numerous runways, Tv shows, commercials and magazines. Along with all these distinctions, he has devoted time to educating himself with numerous internships, mentorships, and assistant positions. These relationships eventually led to several licenses and certifications, including several remarkable acknowledgements. Among them is the award he received from Birmingham City in recognition of his contribution to environmental education and environmental awareness. Recently, he has been nominated for the Journey Award, the Black Only Soul Awards, and was selected to participate in Magic City Fashion Week as a model.
His fondness for modeling and fashion stems from his everyday goal of showing the world that anyone, no matter who they are, can wear what makes them happy because if you feel good you do good, and you produce more light. He aims to expand his modeling school to different cities around the world to attract more students and establish a pathway for models of androgyny, alternative modeling, and uniqueness to have the same opportunity as “industry desired” have. In keeping with his mission, Mr. Cromwell won the title of “MALE MODEL OF THE YEAR” in 2020 from the state of Alabama for all his pro-bono and non-profit work to help develop the artistic world, particularly the modeling community.
Now Royal Cromwell has several new avenues he is adventuring down, including becoming a heel designer. He has released his first heel collection “R.Cromwell” and the shoes are selling like hot cakes. This humble and successful model is also nominated again for the “Alabama Male Model of The Year 2022” as well as the “hottest movement Award” and voting is open and ends on June 12th, 2022. To vote visit Alabamamusicawards.com and vote for “Royal Cromwell” under category (3) & (34).
