By popular demand, The Fresh Faces Project Awards has been resumed on a virtual basis by its Founder, Dr. Calynn Lawrence. Following last year’s proclamation that she and her firm, the Calynn Communications & Creative corporation, would be sunsetting this beloved annual ceremony to focus on their new venture, The Holistic Healing Source for Marginalized Society, they received many pleas to rework the treasured awards and figure out a way to continue them. Thus, she thankfully came to the decision that they would revive them digitally so as to keep the financial and labor costs down while keeping their supporters happy!
Uniquely positioned as one of few international awards competitions that honor people from countless fields completely free of cost to its participants (with lifetime operating expenses well into the 5-figures fully self-funded by Dr. Lawrence), the chance to be chosen as a Fresh Faces Project honoree is one to be revered. They have honored hundreds of businesses, charities, public figures and artists over the years, and built a name in the press as hosting a “legion of legends” and being one of the largest pro bono marcom agencies in the world. Their work has been heralded by tens of major media giants over the years. Their nonprofit initiative has also garnered numerous national and global awards, making 29-year-old Dr. Lawrence one of the most decorated in her field as an entrepreneur & humanitarian turned social scientist. Just as her resume is impressive, so are those of the people they select.

Part of what makes the award process so special is that no honoree is chosen without being vetted by Dr. Lawrence. Many of them are people that she’s already collaborated with. Drawing from her expansive network that she’s built over the years, she enjoys giving back to those whom she’s personally witnessed do great things! For example, she zealously spoke at length about all of this year’s honorees as she knew them all very well from building relationships with them in person and/or online. Among them are Dave Bradley, Anthony Strong, Dr. Alexandra Elinsky, Coach Kay, Carolyn Lear Palmer, The Care Plan founded by Jacqueline Boyd, Latoya Gipson, Angie A.love, Amber Danielle, Cherita Houston, and Lockreg Blackwell III.
The legacy of The Fresh Faces Project carries on through the remarkable achievements of their participants. There is no shortage of talent, accolades nor “it factor” among the 2025 award winners. We are confident that the honorees will continue to change the game in their industries. Dr. Lawrence’s impact on how we view service work and micro-philanthropy is profound. As living proof that you don’t have to be wealthy to make a difference, having started The Fresh Faces Project at only 18 years old, her influence is spellbinding.
