I’d be happy to introduce myself to your American Audience in Manhattan My name is Philip Galvin I am an Irish EDM DJ based in Dublin, IRELAND I am also a qualified Radio DJ, Certified in Advanced Broadcasting, EDM DJ / Producer I trained in Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio and Radio Nova.

And have worked as a Television Actor for many years carrying out roles for RTÉ Ireland’s National Broadcaster, and Virgin Media Television As a versatile artist with a lot of experience I am currently going back to my DJ Roots to focus on producing music and working with other artists!
What inspired you to cover Your Loving Arms?
This is a song I have always loved from the 90’s, I was thinking I would love to have this song on my upcoming album! That’s when I went in search for the right Singer for it, and found Emy Smith from Buenos Aires, in Argentina. I knew straight away she had the perfect voice for what I wanted to achieve with my rendition of this song.
Why did you choose Billie Ray Martin’s 1995 classic?
Billie Ray Martin, originally released it in October 1994 before becoming a massive global hit in May 1995 Now I am doing a Cover of it with Emy Smith in August 2026 with the aim of paying homage to the original while giving it a modern feel. Our aim is to give listeners a sense of nostalgia from a 90’s classic while it also sounds totally brand new at the same time!
How did your collaboration with Emy Smith begin?
It began when I was looking for a suitable Singer to do the song with me, before Emy knew who I was, I had seen her singing a number of times a year prior, so I took note and contacted her a year later and asked her if she would do me a demo, she agreed and we got to work on the song. She is a very good singer, and her vocals is well suited for this song.
What was it like working with an artist from Argentina?
It was an enjoyable mutual learning experience for both of us, Emy is a bilingual singer, songwriter, and topliner from Buenos Aires, Argentina, who primarily performs in English and Spanish, She has written and recorded music alongside Grammy Award-winning producers like K.C. Porter and Narada Michael Walden, as well as Billboard Top 30 pop artists. She also composed and provided vocals for the hit mobile role-playing game Dislyte and has over 250,000 monthly listeners on her Emy Smith Spotify Profile so I am delighted to be working with a true professional. Emy also wants to say the following ” It’s a pleasure to sing a song like this one with Philip, I’m more than sure that it will bring back many memories for a lot of you! Old music is the base for the new music we listen to nowadays, let’s keep it alive.”
How would you describe your version of the song?
Our vision while recording it was to keep it close sounding to the original while giving it a modern feel. We are hoping to give listeners a sense of nostalgia from a 90’s classic while it also sounds totally brand new at the same time! I have done my research, and listened to several other covers prior to recoding my one, and from what I heard none of them pay homage to the original, a lot seem to be acoustic versions and very slow, and some of them don’t sound like the same song at all. I think Me and Emy’s version will stand out for sure!
What can fans expect from the release on 11th August 2026?
You can expect the best thing ever!!! Haha, No I’m only joking ( Or am I? ) lol As previously mentioned above you can expect a version that pays homage to the original and adds a modern vibe to the song.
How has your experience as an EDM DJ influenced your music?
It hasn’t changed, I’ve always loved working with music one way or another, in Radio Stations, making music for my Online Parody Sketches on YouTube using my Yamaha synthesizer, creating theme tunes for comedy since 2007, I even done a Cover of Sigala – Easy Love, a few years ago. At the very end at 16:24 into the video you can hear my raw live take on Sigala – Easy Love Now that I am working with other artists I have great opportunities to put my DJ skills in full motion, I am in my true element now after several years of experience as a DJ on Radio and working in Voice Overs and Acting, it’s great to be making music with other artists.
What did you learn during your years as a Radio DJ at 96fm (2009–2015)?
I told the Manager at the time I wanted to present a radio show called Raw Sewage, People thought I was joking but I wasn’t, It was a show with comedy sketches and music, and she loved the idea and allowed me to call it Raw Sewage lol, so I went into their recording studio with my keyboard and started recording Jingles for the show and done that for a few years, then I presented my Philip Galvin 4-5 Live Programme which was a more serious slot. During my 4-5 Live Show, I produced and presented it myself, operating the studio, writing the script for it every week. I would count down the Irish Top 30, Have different segments on the show including Phil’s Random Facts, The 90’s Tune – A different 90’s tune every week where I would read out all the details of the artist about their history in music then play their song at the end.
