Lucky Honey Are Back  And They’re Bringing Your Inner Kid With Them

Lucky Honey Are Back  And They’re Bringing Your Inner Kid With Them

If you’ve been looking for a song that makes you want to dance around your kitchen, stare dramatically out a car window, and maybe call up your old imaginary friend just to say Hey, good news. Lucky Honey has you covered.

The Hamilton, Ontario indie-rock band just dropped their newest single, “My Friend Is a Dancer,” and honestly… It’s their most fun and heartfelt track yet. It’s the kind of song that makes you feel like you’re in a coming-of-age movie, even if you’re just folding laundry. Hypnotic beat, dreamy synths, a massive sing-along chorus, it’s everything you’d expect from Lucky Honey, just turned up a notch.

So who are Lucky Honey?  Think 80s shimmer + 90s alt-rock grit + modern indie sparkle. They write songs that sound like road trips with your best friends, summer nights where nobody wants to go home, and dance parties in basements where the floor is way too sticky. They’re new to the scene (formed in 2024), but they’re already making big waves across Canada.

They kicked things off with “One You Call,” followed by “Setting Sun” and “Looking for Help,” and now with “My Friend Is a Dancer,” it feels like they’ve fully dialed in who they are: emotional, electrifying, and ready to make even the too-cool-to-dance people tap their foot.

The concept behind their new single is super cool too, it’s inspired by imaginary friends and that childlike belief in magic we lose somewhere along the way. It’s about letting go, moving your body, and remembering that even grown-ups deserve a little wonder. It’s upbeat, nostalgic, and weirdly deep but in the most approachable way.

And let’s talk about their live show for a second, because if you haven’t seen Lucky Honey live yet, you’re missing out. They’ve already sold out shows in Hamilton and Ottawa, played major festivals like NXNE and Sound of Music Festival, and even had a live broadcast performance at Sugar Beach Sessions.

Lucky Honey aren’t just rising, they’re launching. “My Friend Is a Dancer” feels like the beginning of their next big chapter, and if you’re not on board yet, now’s the time.
