Once known for his appearances on television and viral social media content, Tyler Mizak has found his true calling far from Hollywood, in the halls of senior living communities. At just 29 years old, Mizak has become one of the most dynamic and inspiring young leaders in the senior care field, transforming lives and challenging stereotypes about aging along the way.
Now serving as Life Enrichment Manager at a respected senior living community in Bedford County, PA Tyler has earned a reputation for turning everyday moments into extraordinary experiences. Whether he’s planning themed weeks, getting a 100 year old on a water slide, or memory focused events for residents with dementia, his creativity and heart are unmatched.
But Mizak’s influence stretches far beyond his day-to-day role.
He is the creator and host of the “Ageless Adventures” podcast, a candid and heartfelt show where older adults share their stories, life lessons, and plenty of laughs. The podcast aims to elevate senior voices and bridge the generational gap, making listeners realize that adventure doesn’t stop at a certain age.
Just this year in 2025, Tyler launched the “Older People Are Cool” movement, a growing lifestyle brand and social campaign that celebrates aging with pride and humor. Featuring merchandise, and educational content, the brand reminds the world that growing older is something to be celebrated, not hidden.
Perhaps one of the most personal and powerful parts of Mizak’s mission is his unwavering commitment to LGBTQIA+ elders. As an openly gay man, Tyler has become a strong advocate for creating safe, affirming spaces within senior living communities for older LGBTQIA+ adults many of whom have spent a lifetime hiding who they are. He works closely with residents and staff alike to build inclusive programming, host Pride themed events, and promote awareness and understanding.
“So many LGBTQIA+ seniors paved the way for us, but they’re often forgotten,” says Mizak. “I want to make sure they know they’re seen, valued, and loved not just during Pride Month, but every day.”
His work is opening doors and hearts in a population that too often faces isolation and invisibility.
Tyler is living proof that real stars don’t fade, they evolve. And in the world of senior living, his light is shining brighter than ever.
