Los Angeles-based actor, Niccolò Dallerba, hails from Florence in Italy. Since living in the entertainment capital, Niccolò is one of Hollywood’s brightest stars in film and television. We caught up with Niccolò to chat about his movie ‘Love is Dead’.
You’ve been working a while, has there been one particular moment in your career that you’re most proud of?
There hasn’t been a moment in particular where I was really proud of my career, but I find myself incredibly lucky and honored to be working in Hollywood, giving my passion to this industry with all the benefits that come from it. New York is my next place to conquer!
Tell us about the movie ‘Love is Deaf’?
‘Love is Deaf’ is a movie parody of the original TV show ‘Love is Blind’ on Netflix, which follows a social experiment where single men and women look for love and get engaged. Our movie is a comedy parody of the original reality show that creates a big mess and a great chaos between the relationships of those people.
What was filming like?
Filming this project was great fun and such a good experience for me and all the people involved in this movie. We shot the film in Los Angeles specifically close to Redondo Beach. Everyone was really inspired and always collaborative to do better with the goal of work in a community and create art. Recreating the scenes and adding the fun element wasn’t easy but with the help of our director Andrew Judge and the amazing crew, we achieved something awesome that we hope people will love. We had many moments as actors to improvise with freedom, where we discovered something different that wasn’t in the script and it’s a privilege to have that opportunity.
What is your character like?
My character is a really good one and funny, pretty close to my personality but much more romantic and sarcastic than I am. I play the role of Nick, he is the only one in the house whose concern is to find real love, but he puts himself in a precarious position when he finds two women but must marry just one of them.
Which actors/directors would you like to collaborate with in future?
There isn’t a particular actor or director out there that I dream to work with, maybe Clint Eastwood yes, but I enjoy working with everyone in this business, the independent filmmakers or the big studios that give me the opportunity to step forward sharing my passion for cinema and create something special.
What’s up next?
I have several movies coming out this year, and a couple of really exciting international projects lined up. Stay tuned!
